High Fish Lakes of Washington State

This page shows the locations of alpine fishing lakes, with data scraped from the WDFW site. To help planning, it breaks them out by whether they are overabundant or good starting lakes.

Overabundant:

Overabundant lakes are ones where there are too many fish (usually from human stocking) for the available resources. This puts a great burden on the ecosystem, and the WDFW encourages anglers to harvest the maximum daily limit. Enjoy Washington's mountains, catch some of the hungriest fish you'll ever find, and do the environment a favor!

Starting:

These lakes are easier to access for people new to the sport of alpine fishing.
